We repair all uPVC door hardware — handles, espag strips, gearboxes, hinges and full servicing. We carry parts for most major manufacturers and can usually complete the repair on the same visit. No door replacements recommended unless absolutely necessary.

What is an Espag Mechanism?
The espagnolette (espag) is the long locking strip running up inside your door frame. When you lift the handle, it drives multiple bolts, hooks and rollers into the frame simultaneously. A failed espag means the door can't lock even if the handle moves — it's one of the most common door faults we see.
Signs your espag has failed:
- Handle turns but the door won't lock — bolts aren't engaging
- Handle drops or feels loose when lifted
- Door closes but you can't get the key to turn in the cylinder
- Door pulls shut but won't latch without lifting the handle
